Natarajan made a strong return to competitive cricket after 12 months of injury. When he played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), he scored 2 for 26 in his four games against the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022 at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

Natarajan toured with the Indian side of Australia in 2020-21 and ended his debut in all three formats.
