MI vs KKR Highlights, IPL 2023 match 22: 3 moments that generated a buzz among fans

Mumbai Indians (MI) managed to get another win in the IPL 2023 season, this time against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. The visitors chased down the target of 186 well and that will give them a lot of confidence.

A sensational hundred from Venkatesh Iyer took KKR to 185/6 in their twenty overs. However, it was rare for Mumbai to pull things off at the death. As MI's early form got in the hunt, they progressed the game to the point where it was almost impossible for KKR to catch up.

With that said, let's take a look at three groups in the game that caught the attention of fans on social media:

Hrithik Shokeen-Nitish Rana heated exchange

Hrithik Shokeen bowled well for MI, picking up some important wickets. However, Nitish Rana's wicket caused a lot of fire. Rana dances across the floor to slam Shokeen into the chair, but is able to break it with a long arm. As they were leaving, the catcher said something to the batter and the pair got into a heated argument.

With Shokeen out of the middle after sending off Rana early on, the KKR skipper had to remain calm as he continued to have a heated discussion with Shokeen before returning to the clubhouse.

Fans on Twitter were a bit surprised as Shokeen and Rana were playing their national cricket for Delhi together and felt that the incident showed a potential rift in Delhi's inner circle.

Attack of Ishan Kishan and Sunil Narine

The 186-run target was not a huge one, but many doubted the Mumbai hitters who were negotiating with KKR's good innings on the dry Wankhede pitch. However, Ishan Kishan cleared those doubts by beating Sunil Narine in his first power play win.

The southpaw seems to be in a completely different mindset in the hunt as he seems to be keen to improve his power play. Ishan smashed 6.6 and 4 in Narine's first over and that more or less put MI in the driver's seat. The explosive wicket-taker scored 58 runs in just 25 balls to give Mumbai a dream start.

Suryakumar Yadav's trademark six over fine leg

Suryakumar Yadav captained Mumbai Indians against KKR while Rohit Sharma was named in the impact subs. But all eyes are on how he will fare with the bat as 'SKY' has scored four golden ducks in his last seven innings in all forms of cricket.

The Mumbai captain took a few deliveries to start with but eventually found his mojo and what! Suryakumar scored 43 off just 25 balls, including a hilarious one off Andre Russell. It is a sign of a possible return to form, something that opposing teams should be wary of.

Although Suryakumar Yadav could not stay in the end and bring his team home, he showed signs of returning to his strength. The fact that Mumbai won in his first match as captain will give him more confidence.
