Defending champions Gujarat Titans that was all set to face
the Chennai Super Kings for the IPL 2023 Final match at the Narendra Modi
Stadium in Ahmedabad on 28 May had to wait for another day as incessant rains
played a spoilsport. Despite multiple attempts, the match couldn't be played and
had to switched for the reserve day, i.e. 29 May.
Now the interesting clash will take place at Narendra Modi
Stadium on 29 May from 7:30 pm onwards (IST).
The Gujarat Titans will look to retain the IPL trophy while
Chennai Super Kings will look to win their fifth IPL trophy.
Gujarat Titans lost their first qualifier against Chennai
Super Kings at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, the
Gujarat-based franchise sealed their place in the final after beating Mumbai
Indians by 62 runs on Friday.
Both teams rely heavily on their top-order batting. Shubman
Gill, in particular, is the highest run-scorer in this year's IPL, becoming
only the second Indian batsman to score over 800 runs in a season.
Meanwhile, Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad have been
spearheading the CSK batting at the top. Devon Conway has scored 625 runs in
the 14 innings this season, batting with a strike rate of 137 and an average of
52. Ruturaj Gaikwad, on the other hand, has scored 564 runs this season with an
average of 43 and a strike rate of 146.
