3 Good points for PBKS to take away from defeat against RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 24 runs in Mohali. RCB moved up to fifth in the league with the win, while PBKS slipped to seventh.

After 20 batting overs on a hard ground, RCB managed to score 174/4. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, who put on a top score of 137, were RCB's top-scoring pair, each with 59 runs off 47 balls.

The next hitters, however, could not build on the strong footing and eventually failed to provide the much-needed acceleration in the end.

In reply, PBKS got off to a terrible start and were bowled out for 43/4 in 5.3 overs. Jitesh Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh kept PBKS in the game, but none of the other batsmen could get any help.

The sensation of bowling for RCB was Mohammed Siraj (4-0-21-4), whose firework helped RCB win and send them to the top of the Purple Cap leaderboard.

However, all is not lost for the kings of Punjab. They may have lost the game, but there are aspects of their performance that the Kings can be proud of. Let's look at three good things for PBKS from this game.

Prabhsimran Singh is doing well

Despite constant wickets falling on his side, Prabhsimran Singh stood tall as he bowled well against an RCB side who were bowlers. Prabhsimran (46 off 30 balls) hit 3 fours and 4 sixes to attack RCB, batting at 153.33.

The Punjab King batsman will look to turn his start into a big score in the upcoming matches, especially in the absence of skipper Shikhar Dhawan.

Jitesh Sharma continues in his rich vein

Jitesh Sharma (41 off 27 balls) gave RCB some nervous moments as he ran hard, bringing DLS close to his side with the threat of rain coming.

The youngster has been impressive in his shooting game in the first round of the tournament, but he is not big yet. The youngster hit 2 fours and 3 sixes in his good innings.

Jitesh later ran out to the partners and was the last wicket to fall for PBKS. He will look to continue his form in the upcoming matches.

Spin Twins weave a web around the opposition

Rahul Chahar (4-0-24-0) and Harpreet Brar (3-0-31-2) enjoyed the ball. They are among the few bowlers who can contain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli in this tournament.

Chahar, despite being wicketless, found it difficult to score as he conceded just 6 runs. Brar, though expensive overall, eventually took the big wickets of Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell, which prevented RCB from getting close to 190 in the end.
