Senegalese striker Sadio Mane admitted that when he heard
about Bayern Munich's interest, his heart began to move. Mané said his move to
Bayern Munich from Liverpool was the right decision at the right time because
the German champions had the best plans with him.
Mane arrived in Munich on Tuesday for a medical examination
and was seen in a Bayern jersey as he left the clinic. The club is expected to
officially announce the deal later Wednesday.
"My life has always been a challenge. When my adviser
informed me of Bayern's interest for the first time I was all flame and
fire," he told Bild newspaper.
"I could instantly see me there. For me it was the
right club at the right time. It is one of the world's biggest club who always
battles for all titles.
"For me the feeling was right when Bayern presented
their plan. I saw myself in Bayern's plan more than in any other."
Mane left Anfield after 269 matches, scoring 120 goals in
all competitions, a good comeback that helped the club win the Champions League
in 2018-19 and later the Premier League.
The attacker is expected to become Bayern's third addition
in the near future after the arrival of Ajax Amsterdam's Ryan Gravenberch and
Noussair Mazrouai.
Bayern are desperate for their all-round offensive range,
with wingers Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane lacking any consistency last season.
The Bavarians still won the German league for the tenth time
in a row, but failed to advance to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
Mane was one of Liverpool's top players last seasons,
scoring 23 times, while Jurgen Klopp's team won the national cup twice and
narrowly won the league title at Manchester City.
