In both games, Team India's best lineup failed to score
big. This could open the door for batsman Prithvi Shaw in the Playing XI.
Team India recorded a six-wicket win over New Zealand in
the second T20I in Lucknow on Sunday to tie the three-match series 1-1. The
match turned out to be a low-key thriller as both the teams struggled to put up
a good display with the bat. Invited to play the first game, Hardik Pandya's
side managed to restrict the visitors to 99/8 from 20 overs.
However, the host lost a few wickets in the chase but
Suryakumar Yadav anchored the innings and got the Indian side over the line
with one ball to spare. The result of the current three-match series in the
third and final T20I will be announced on Wednesday in Ahmedabad. In both
games, Team India's best lineup failed to score big. This could open the door
for batsman Prithvi Shaw in the Playing XI.
Here is the Indian XI we have planned for the third T20I:
Prithvi Shaw: As Shubman Gill did not perform strongly in
the first two matches, the management may give Prithvi Shaw a chance in the
third T20I. The 23-year-old batsman, who will play his last international match
in 2021, has been encouraged in domestic cricket this year.
Ishan Kishan: The wicketkeeper misfired again in the second
T20I and was dismissed for 19 off 32 balls. He will look for redemption in the
third match.
Suryakumar Yadav: The star batsman came as a savior for
India and was unbeaten on 26 to take the visitors to the line in match 2. He
will now look for a big knock in the third T20I.
Rahul Tripathi: After a love affair with a duck in the
first T20I, Tripathi was dismissed for 13 in the second match. The 31-year-old
striker should definitely put in a good performance in the next game.
Hardik Pandya: The skipper lost a wicket and scored 25 runs
in his four overs. Later, he entered into a winning partnership with Suryakumar
Yadav, where he contributed to 15* runs.
Deepak Hooda: The right-handed batsman didn't bat in the
second T20I but did a good job with the ball. In his 4 overs, he took a wicket
and conceded just 17 runs.
Washington Sundar: Changeling 17 runs and took a wicket in
three. Apart from that, he also scored 10 points before running away.
Kuldeep Yadav: The left-arm spinner gave a brilliant
performance as he took the wicket and conceded just 17 runs in four overs.
Arshdeep Singh: The young Indian pacer, who had a memorable
outing in the first T20I, redeemed himself in the second match by claiming two
wickets and conceding just 7 runs in two overs.
Shivam Mavi: The right-handed pacer went wicketless and
proved valuable as he conceded 11 runs in one over.
Yuzvendra Chahal: The veteran all-rounder replaced Umran
Malik and boosted India's attack. Chahal scored a double in the second T20I and
conceded just four runs for two wickets.
