Virat Kohli recently shared his Yo-Yo test score on his
Instagram account, providing insight into his impressive fitness levels. As
preparations for the Asia Cup 2023 are underway, the renowned Indian cricketer
posted his score of 17.2 in the fitness test, surpassing the reported
acceptable threshold of 16.5. Despite fans celebrating Kohli's exceptional
fitness achievements at the age of 34, the Board of Control for Cricket in
India (BCCI) officials expressed concerns over the disclosure of confidential information
on social media.
In a story posted on Instagram, Kohli expressed his
satisfaction with completing the challenging Yo-Yo test, saying, "The
happiness of finishing the Yo-Yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2
done." However, the BCCI promptly reminded all players, including Kohli,
to refrain from sharing confidential details on social media platforms.
A BCCI official highlighted the importance of adhering to
contractual obligations and the potential breach of contract clauses resulting
from sharing such sensitive information. They emphasized that while players are
encouraged to share training-related photos, disclosing specific scores could
have contractual implications.
Leading up to the Asia Cup 2023, Indian players selected for
the tournament have been engaged in a specialized training regimen at a camp in
Bengaluru. While some players joined the camp a few days earlier, those
involved in the Ireland T20I series will join on August 25.
The training program is reportedly tailored to prepare
players for the upcoming ODI World Cup. With an eye on the highly anticipated
event, the BCCI is dedicated to ensuring the optimal fitness of all potential
squad members. This effort aims to enhance the team's prospects of clinching
the championship title and ending their prolonged ICC trophy drought.
The Asia Cup campaign is scheduled to commence on August 30,
with the Indian team's first match against arch-rivals Pakistan set to take
place on September 02. As the cricketing world watches with anticipation, the Indian
team strives to achieve success in these significant tournaments.
