Suryakumar Yadav
ended up scoring the third most recently in the World Cup 2022 T20 with a total
of 239 in six matches at an impressive 189.68.
Suryakumar Yadav is
in his prime. The no. 1 T20I hitter, according to the ICC rankings, recently
finished third in the T20 World Cup 2022 with a total of 239 in six games and a
breathtaking strike rate of 189.68. He continued his form in the recently
concluded T20I series against New Zealand. He scored 124 in two innings,
including a century. He won the "Player of the Series" award for his
efforts. India won the series 1-0, and Suryakumar's 51-ball 111* had a big part
to play in the Hardik Pandya-led side claiming the series' only win in the
second T20I.
Australian star
Glenn Maxwell praised the effort. "I didn't know the game existed. But
later I looked at the scoreboard and sent the picture to Finchy (Aaron Finch)
and said, 'What's going on here? It falls on a completely different planet!
Look at everyone's score and look at this guy who scores 111 out of 50.'
Maxwell said during an interview with "The Grade Cricketer".
"The next day, I was watching the full innings replay the next day and it was embarrassing that he was better than anybody else. It was almost hard to watch. Nobody we have is close to that."
When asked jokingly
if Suryakumar could get a Big Bash League contract in the future, Maxwell said:
"We don't have enough money. There is no chance. We will fire all the
players and fire all the contracted players from Cricket Australia
(laughs)."
Suryakumar will
play again in the ODI series against New Zealand from Friday.
