On the penultimate day of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in
Birmingham, 13 medals came for India, including four gold, four silver and five
bronze. This helped India end the 10th day of CWG 2022 with a total of 55
medals, placing the country fifth in the medal tally. But India will have more
chances to add to its tally on the final day of the Games where the country
will compete in six medal events and is guaranteed to win five medals.
In badminton, India have three gold medal matches with PV
Sindhu and Lakhsya Sen aiming for a podium finish in the singles category,
while the pair of Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty hope to finish in
the men's doubles. . Attention soon shifts to table tennis where Sharath Kamal
will go for his fourth medal and second gold at CWG 2022, while G Sathiyan will
aim to finish third in the men's singles. The day will eventually end with the
Manpreet Singh-led Indian side chasing the elusive hockey gold against
Australia.
