Manchester United magic and one of the most famous players of all time Cristiano Ronaldo has called out the transfer rumors circulating on his behalf as fake. Ronaldo, whose future at Manchester United has been in doubt for weeks, took to Instagram to spark the news of his return to Sporting CP, known as Sporting Lisbon outside of Portugal.

Ronaldo's youth club before joining Manchester United were rumored to be keen on a return to his former club. Ronaldo did not travel with Manchester United on their pre-season tour of Asia and requested a leave of absence for personal reasons. This season, he was spotted training with the Portuguese national team. With many clubs interested in signing the Manchester United star, Chelsea is set to go without updates from Ronaldo himself. Erik ten Hag said in a recent press conference that Ronaldo was in his plans and had no indication whether he would leave the club.

Manchester United are looking to overtake their squad after a terrible time in the Premier League last season. The club finished sixth in the league and failed to qualify for the Champions League. Cristiano Ronaldo has enjoyed himself personally, scoring goals for his team, but a large section of fans blames his inexperience for Manchester United's Premier League.
