Mohammed Siraj replaces injured Jasprit Bumrah in T20I series squad

Bumrah was ruled out of the show due to a back injury.

The injury ruled him out of the World Cup

Siraj will be in the team for the next two matches

During India's pre-T20 international series, Bumrah suffered a fracture in his back which prevented him from the start of the series. However, after further examination, the injury is considered serious and reports suggest that the Indian pacer will be out of action for at least six months.

In the statement of Friday school by BCCI, the director announces Silaj to pay the weight and the team for two matches. They continue to say that Bumrah is under the health care of the BCCI team.

"The All India Captains Selection Committee has named Mohd. Siraj as the replacement for the injured Jasprit Bumrah for the remainder of the T20I series against South Africa."

"Bumrah has suffered a back injury and is currently under the care of the BCCI medical team," BCCI said in the statement. The team for the two remaining games is as follows:

India Squad for South Africa T20is: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Kl Rahul (Vice-Capitaine), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (Wicket-Garkeep Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, Deepak Chahar, Umesh Yadav, Shreyas Iyer , Shahbaz Ahmed, Mohd. Siraj.

Siraj has played five T20Is so far and has taken five wickets. His last match for India in the series was back in February.

Bumrah was rested for the opening series against South Africa after complaining of back discomfort. It looks likely either Mohammed Shami or Deepak Chahar will replace him at the T20 World Cup next month.

India currently leads the series 1-0 after winning the game on Wednesday by eight wickets.
