India beat Pakistan in ICC ODI Team Rankings after their narrow 10-wicket win over England

India have topped Pakistan in the latest ICC ODI Team Rankings following their narrow 10-wicket victory over England in the first match of the ongoing ODI series.

The Men in Blue, who finished fourth with 105 points against England, moved up to third with 108 points, 106 points behind Pakistan.

New Zealand leads the table with 126 rating points, while England is second with 122 rating points.

On Tuesday (July 12), England slumped to their lowest total (110 runs) against India in ODIs thanks to Jasprit Bumrah's six-wicket haul. Other members of India's bowling attack came past Bumrah, while Mohammed Shami took three wickets and Prasidh Krishna took one.

Bumrah's 6/19 against England is now the third best ODI figure for an Indian. For him, Stuart Binny scored 6 off 4 against Bangladesh in 2014 and Anil Kumble returned with 6 off 12 against West Indies in 1993.

In response, Rohit Sharma (76 *) and Shikhar Dhawan (31 *) put on an unbeaten 114-run opening partnership to give India a 1-0 lead over England in the three-match series.

Rohit and Shikhar entered the record books as they became only the fourth opening pair in ODI history to cross 5000 runs together.

They also became the second Indian opening duo after Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly to cross 5000 runs in ODIs. Tendulkar and Ganguly, who opened the innings between 1996-2007, together scored 6609 runs.
