BCCI announces schedule and venue for India ODI series, T20I vs New Zealand and Sri Lanka in 2023

BCCI announced India's home season on Wednesday, starting January 3. The Asian giants will face Sri Lanka and New Zealand in a short series before taking on Australia in 4 Tests and 3 ODIs in February-March. India starts the new year with a 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, starting on January 3.

Mumbai, Pune, and Rajkot will host the T20I series while Guwahati, Kolkata and Trivandrum will host the ODI series from January 10-15. There is not much break between the two series as India will start their ODI series against hosts New Zealand from January 18 in Hyderabad. Raipur and Indore will host the other two ODIs.

Then the action will move to the T20I series, starting on January 27. Ranchi, Lucknow and Ahmedabad will host the 3-match T20I series.

After the white-ball series, the action will continue with the much-anticipated 4-Test series against Australia, which will be India's final assignment in the 2021-23 World Cup test cycle. Test series will be played in Nagpur, Delhi, Dharamsala and Ahmedabad from February 9 to March 13. It will also be the final edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy which will be a test series of 4 matches. The home season will conclude with a 3-match ODI series for Australia from March 17-22, after which the action will change to the 2023 Indian Premier League.

Notably, India played 3 T20Is and several ODIs against New Zealand in November alone. Rohit Sharma's men are involved in three ODIs and 2 Tests in Bangladesh.
